Vessel Services
Our vessel services can be utilised during various phases of your project, including pre-installation, construction, and decommissioning. We are fortunate to have access to a large pool of vessels around Scotland, with skippers and crew capable of providing a local knowledge and rapid response.

Guard / Fisheries Liaison Vessels
Utilised during vulnerable periods of offshore oil & gas, offshore wind, and subsea cable installation/decommissioning. Providing essential protection for:
- Pipelines
- Cable lay operations
- Subsea structures such as wellheads and manifolds
- Offshore sites during installation, operational and decommissioning phases
- Renewable energy installation operations
Guard vessels provide an additional level of protection by preventing vessel interaction with subsea infrastructure and discouraging vessels from entering any area that poses a risk to vessel safety and prevent damage to fishing gear.
Survey Support Vessels
The role of the Survey Support (Chase) Vessel is to provide support for seismic surveys or other activities requiring an escort presence (such as pipeline bundle tows, renewable energy installation and environmental related survey work). The Vessel will patrol the project area and establish good communications with any fishing vessels and where applicable other marine traffic in the vicinity, providing early and adequate warnings to help minimise disruption to all parties.
Similar to the Guard Vessel role, the Survey Support Vessel protection is vital in two respects:
- Safety
Exposed equipment is a danger both to and from fishing activity. - Financial
The area being protected will, in the majority of cases, contain expensive survey equipment.
Trawl Sweep and Clean Seabed Verification
Trawl sweep overtrawlability trials are carried out around new pipelines, decommissioned fields, and abandon wellhead sites to ensure that an area is safe for fishing vessels. Covering large areas of the seabed, varying angles and various trawl methods are used so that an extensive sweep is completed.
Trawl sweep can:
- Remove items of debris on the seabed
- Reduce the impact of large clay berms created during pipeline installations or other operations
- Highlight any remaining snags for future removal
A recognised clearance certificate is issued upon a clear trawl sweep.
Debris Clearance
Utilising our Drag.Net solution to recover and remove potential snagging hazards to ensure normal fishing operations can resume. Our range of seabed clearance activities include:
- Safety zone decommissioning (site remediation)
- Pipeline corridor clearance
- Cable route clearance
- Marine salvage
We provide:
- Dedicated vessel and equipment
- Experienced crew
- Debris recovery to shore
- Delivery to recycling/disposal plant
- Final trawl sweep & clearance verification
Seabed Rectification
Seabed rectification following pipe or cable lay operations may be required where post-backfill issues, or clay berms present a safety hazard; during post-decommissioning overtrawl trials or abandoned wellhead sweeps.
Vessel provision can be tailored to your project requirements.
