Marketing Coordinator

We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Co-ordinator to join our small team at our office in central Aberdeen.  You should be creative, adaptable and keen to learn about our business. The position will support the delivery of marketing activities set out by the Managing Director and the creation of a range of engaging content, including; online, print and social media. Qualification to at least HND level in a relevant subject (Graphic Design/Marketing) is required. 

Applicants should have all or most of the following key competencies: 

  • Confident with Microsoft Office applications, and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Graphic design capability: produce promotional materials including brochures, leaflets, exhibition banners, procedures manuals etc. to pre-press, in keeping with brand
  • Ability to communicate with clients, members and sub-contractors and to network, as directed
  • Personal skills such as: adaptability, creativity, diplomacy, flexibility and discretion
  • Experience of website design/maintenance using WordPress CMS
  • Video production capability would be an advantage

Fisheries Observer

The company’s activities include managing a team of fisheries observers who collect data for the Independent On-board Observer Scheme (IOOS) which supports and informs the joint SFF/Marine Scotland Science scheme and helps support and inform Industry/Science related projects in need of data collection at sea.

We have a current requirement for a full time observer to undertake sampling aboard commercial fishing vessels to collect data, and report on the catch, under Phase VI of the scheme. This includes work streams in support of Marine Scotland fisheries management initiatives.  The scheme is funded by the Scottish Government and European Maritime and Fisheries Fund.

Candidates will possess:

  • a fisheries or marine biology qualification and knowledge of fishing practices, or relevant work experience
  • basic numeric and IT skills are essential
  • full UK driving license
  • seagoing and fisheries data collection experience would be advantageous
