It has been a steady start to date for vessel operations at SFF Services. The number of member vessels engaged in 2014 is now more than 100, on 27 different client projects. As well as the provision of guard services, two separate trawl sweep projects have also taken place this year, with overtrawlability trials conducted at various abandoned wellhead locations and a decommissioned North Sea oil field.

As always, the SFF’s ethos has always been to try to spread these offshore work opportunities amongst the fleet. This has greatly benefited the long term working relationship between the Scottish fishing industry and the offshore energy sector, as well as contributing to the continuing increase in health and safety standards.
